Description

Limited for time today as I’ve got to drive over to Staffordshire. Normally that turns into a parody of the ‘Travel Hopefully’ scene from ‘By Jeeves’:

Looks like Bulldog Drummond and Tenney.

I don’t know if you know Bulldog Drummond, Bob, but it seems like it was a fairly popular British movie series back in the 1930s. A lot of the movies (that are usually 1 hour long) are public domain now, and they’re a mix of adventure and comedy. They’re about a WWI Veteran who’s bored with civilian life, so he goes on adventures - or (more often) adventures go on him; he sometimes is just puttering by when a whole other adventure shows up in front of him.

Bulldog Drummond Escapes, 1937 - Only one with Ray Millan as Drummond.

(Just avoid “Bulldog Drummond at Bay” (1937 version) and “Bulldog Drummond in Africa” for the first watches if you’re only just checking the series out; those ones didn’t strike me to be as comical. The 1929 movie seems a bit slow, too, for today; but, it’s from 1929. They only just got audio.)
