i actually know a couple that met like this near word for word.

I’m not sure its so much not getting along as its making choices that family doesn’t agree with, as well as something of a feeling of being a black sheep. Atom chose become a criminal and rebel vs Code desperately trying to be a good cop. Candy came out as transgender and her apparently VERY traditional and straight-laces parents don’t get it and reacted badly. Now we have Seafire, who moved halfway around the world for a job and found love in the bargain, and her mom, who…moved abroad for a job and found love in the bargain. We may learn more, or find out that its Spiteful/Seahawk that is the family kook after all.

Is it just me or is this a recurring theme in captainhoers’ strips that family members don’t get along? Atom and her brother, Candy and her parents and now Seafire and her mom, too.

I dunno if cap’n reads the comments here, but I appreciate the idea of Supermarine willing to, hell, actively encouraging Spitfire and Seafire to reconnect and be family, despite her opinions of Seafire’s life choices.
 
Of course, maybe Supermarine has some issues from being a horse army wife and doing something similar and finally wised up.
