It’s hardly a fair comparison when you have a lucrative juggernaut that far surpassed Star Trek and Star Wars together in sheer quantity of content that would take a lifetime to consume and a standard series that is about as long as most successful ones and put out niche printed content you’d have to look to find. Not to mention the fact they neutered the antagonistic characters they did introduce as a result of having thrown everything they could at the wall from sheer lengthy runtime and limited creativity in the long haul, a trap that befalls anything that goes on indefinitely.

Meanwhile, at the island of Koridai

Gannon: Grounu, Tirek is under attack by the evil forces of fanbronies. I’m going to Dream Valley to aid him.

Grounu: But master, what if something happens to you?

Gannon: I’ll take the Triforce Of Power to protect me. If you don’t hear from me in a month, send Militron.

Grounu: Lupay?

Lupay: Don’t worry, Grounu. This ruby promises Gannon will safely return.

Gannon: Enough, Chrysalis will die in the morning! I wonder what’s for dinner?

Militron: Oh boy, I’m so hungry, I could eat a worthless Koridian!

@Amominom
Comic series is official G4 material just like the cartoon, there is nothing “fanon” about it. Deal with it.

Loving that comic being made canon for Chrissy.
All of these comparisons are biased.
OP just pointed out the “omq so scur” aspects of Tirek, and made Chrissy’s fanon canon to give G4 more points.

Well, this makes FIM very grimdark, but there is one thing.. Difference is what you can put into the cartoon series with G rating, and what you can do in the comics.. in G1 comics there also were people or other beings killed even by the ponies (Applejack is good example).. G1 Tales has this even on screen, but again.. you must think that to the end (i.e. when you cook the pony in the cauldron, she will eventually die.. and get eaten), maybe except for that vulcano scene (even if it was imagined).. Sonic Satam was also pretty dark compared to the that other Adventures show, and even it wasn’t full of death (maybe a few, and lot of unseen during Kintobor’s coup) as the comics from Archie is.. Not to mention the G1 pilot was reputedly only cut from planned movie.. (I can’t prove this)

I don’t have to tell you guys that I’d go with Chrissy, if only for personal biases. Looking past those, however, I’d actually say that the two of them are about equal on the villain scale. I actually saw Rescue from Midnight Castle, out of curiosity, and felt that Tirek was on par with a lot of the primary villains of FiM.

Prior to his reform, I’d also throw Discord in too as being equal, albiet in a very different way.

I think the CMC were genuinely afraid at that point but decided not to show it (like Spiderman), otherwise they would have given her the satisfaction she wanted.

And if the mane six got there any later, there probably wouldn’t be much to save.

If everything indicates that she did kill it (the splatter, the screams) and there’s nothing pointing otherwise (i.e. a luvcat seen later dunked in tar) then we’re left to assume that she indeed killed it.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

i really don’t think this is a fair comparison, since Tirek’s entire life is about 10 minutes of screen time in a 20 movie
i have a feeling if they ever used Tirek again they’ll make him three times nastier

It’s implied she beat it dead. You don’t get a splatter effect for love-draining.

Thread Starter - The evil council continuation

I still don’t take that this luvcat was killed by chrysalis because love draining still a non-lethal action, plus the cmc really looks like nothing really frightening happened as they weren’t afraid for more than one panel and keep annoying her later.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. “Filthy mane”? Mane looks clean and fabulous to me.

Hey, show some respect for the classics. If it weren’t for Tirek paving the way, we wouldn’t have seen any villains worse than Gilda in G4.
