Within the undiscovered lands full of Alicorns dawned the last memories of such history, Celestia and Luna were born to the Rulers of these lands, Blood Moon and Heatwaves. Celestia is only 2 years older than Luna and were born normal ponies. Celestia a young and cheerful pegasus and a young timid foal Luna. These two were destined to rule these lands in place of their parents to continue the ruling, The Alicorn kingdom was a Monarchy and thus they were born into such a system and they will be the last born in the system. Bloody and Heat adored these young fillies and taught them all the basics they needed to know. They were stuck to each other like glue and showed constant amount of love towards one another, they were practically joined at the hip with how close they were.

At the ages of 12 and 10, the part were ascended into Alicorn status to start their magical training or learn to use their wing. The fillies learned pretty quick, Celestia understood magic and desired to learn as many spells as she could like Luna enjoyed flying around at night. They were still curious of what their marks meant. They were born with them and thus had to solve this mystery. They were planning such a day to solve this until suddenly disaster struck the kingdom. 

A god-like monster was sending an attack towards the kingdom which caused quite a panic. Heatwave tried to get the young fillies into a safe location before they could defend their home from the beast attacking. Panic struck the fillies as they watched their father close off the someplace before vanishing. The constant vibrations, the loud monstrous screams and magical fire went on for hours, hell even days. The fillies felt so much fear within their small bodies that they couldn't even sleep. After a week of constant noise carnage, it was quiet. The fillies starving wanted to see if it was safe to come out to eat. The sisters discussed if they should open the door or wait for their loving father to open so say it was finally over. Hours passed before finally Celestia caved in and opened the door, which the distressing speech of her baby sister. What they saw sent a shockwave of stress and anxiety down their spines. 

The kingdom was in shambles and disarray. house crushed and smashed to bits, the castle walls full of houses and burn marks, countless alicorn bodies scattered around with only giant footprints of the creature responsible for all this carnage. The fillies called out for their parents to hear only silence, wasn't until they noticed a strange being off in the distance that they hushed. A white unicorn covered in a star cloak walked carefully towards the scared foals, Celestia keeping her guard up for her sister. The pony introduced himself as Starswirl to be kind to the young siblings, seeing the damage around himself and the fillies showed clear signs of abandonment after such a loss. He took his time trying to get the foals to trust him to take care of them, from sharing his traveling food with the fillies to getting them to talk to him. Eventually he gained the young fillies trust and offered them his home within the Unicorn Kingdom which they reluctantly agreed to with leaving the only home they know. 

Starswirl was a good parental figure, he didn't feel comfortable with being called Dad by the foals so he mainly had them call him Sir or Mr, the foals were mainly kept hidden from the Unicorns due to them being Alicorns. Celestia always wanted to spread her wings again and start flying but knowing that she couldn't and was forced to keep a secret was frustrating to her. Luna on the otherhoof was content just trying to fit in, even with her wings she kept her guard up and protection high. Starswirl wasn't exactly rich so he was low on the society chain, He may be a powerful unicorn but magical power doesn't help pay the bills or feed the kids. They mainly had cloaks covering their wings while they went to school to learn, they went to school for nearly a few years before the secret got caught after they got their cloak stolen which revealed their wings. After the expose, they were made fun and bullied by other unicorns for being "freaks" or "abominations of their kind" and this went on for the rest of their school years. Starswirl wasn't fully able to prevent the bullying as Unicorns don't respect the less wealthy. Rumours eventually and stories spread from inside the Unicorn Kingdom to the other kingdoms nearby. A meeting was called by the Leader of the Pegasus and Earth kingdom for the Unicorns to state if these rumours, Princess Platinum called for her kind to confirm these rumours by bringing the sisters to them. Which did end up occuring. 

The Leaders were stunned by they sisters (who showed feeling fairly uncomfortable by the sudden interest in them ), and asked for their origins, which the sisters didn't want to reveal their lost home, keeping such history away from the future. They were selected to be trained under the kingdoms to help defend all of them due to their unique powers, given flight training from the Pegasi, Strength training by the Earth ponies and Magical training from the Unicorns. They were so busy with their training and eventually defending of their kingdom they didnt noticed Starswirl's declining health. Before they eventual passing of Starswirl, he taught them one final spell, the spell to move the Sun and Moon. After his passing they would use the spell split off to have the two doing what they realized is their talent, Celestia moved the Sun while Luna moved the moon. Overtime with all their training and battling other being, the Princesses were slowly given respect and love from the other kingdoms which eventually with the help of the founders learning friendship with one another after a near-death experience from their advisors. 

With the creation of Equestria and the fusing of all the kingdoms had a long road ahead of them before they could all live in true harmony. The Princesses were put in charge to help make all the kingdoms love and respect one another, This took many years to work with and even if they were loved not all ponies respected them. often called mistakes and monstrosities, ruining the old lives of all. This caused the Princesses to have different mental states on everything, While Celestia used all of this to better herself to prove her worth to everypony who looked down on them for being different, Luna held her upset emotions away to not upset her sister but wallowing in her pain of feeling wrong. Before the passing of the Leaders, the second in commands gave the next in line status to the Princesses themselves for in hope of ruling the kingdom in the harmony it should be. Celestia and Luna put everything they could into learning to rule and handling the issues of the kingdom to earn more of their love. Eventually the premature deaths of the new leaders. 

The chaotic god himself Discord turned the newly set kingdom into a hellish landscape of disaster and misery. The Princesses weren't originally at the Kingdom during the attack, exploring the forest to discover a Crystalized tree in the now dubbed Everfree Forest, containing 6 magical gemstones in which the Princesses took after hearing about the disaster. Using the Gemstones to seal away Discord into a stature and cleaning up the mess created, the Princesses were now forced to rule the Kingdom they weren't fully prepared for. Dubbing the gemstones that saved the entire Kingdom the Elements of Harmony, promising the protection of Equestria with such elements, they finally earned the respect they dreamed of. 

They weren’t perfect obviously as learning how to handle these new responsibilities were tiring to their mental health, They showed to everypony that they wanted to do the best they could. They spent majority of their years ruling the kingdom was one and defending their home, keeping peace and harmony between the Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies as they formed new kingdoms within Equestria. Using the Elements power constantly to defend their home from the likes of Tirek. Sombra and Chrysalis, using such a powerful energy made it hard for them to realize what it was causing, The Ponies were already fairly Xenophobic but since they were constantly being saved by the Princesses and the gemstones. They felt like they were better than anycreature and would be nasty and cruel to other beings. This went unchecked for centuries as even Celestia developed minor xenophobic moments, which cause a slow downward spiral for Luna as she knew what she and Celestia were when they lived here. At the mark of their 100th year of ruling, the behavoiur of Luna began to surface more and more.

While Luna felt unloved by her kind, as controlling the Moon was her one talent as she saw ponies just sleep through the beauty she brought as Celestia raised the sun and was beloved by their subjects as they were all awake. Luna became more hostile to Celestia but wouldn't express why, constantly covering her emotions leaving Celestia in a constant state of confusion. Everything eventually came to a burst as the darkness within Luna grew into the point of no return. One night, Luna vanished from the city into the old abandon and overgrown land of the Alicorn Kingdom, refusing the lower the Moon for the new day to arrive. Celestia became frustrated, both at why her young sister was acting like this, they were meant to rule together in Harmony, After hours of searching with the Elements stored along side her she found the old kingdom. Storming in to find her young sister standing away from her on the balcony, the two had a shouting match which eventually escalated into a magic duel. Luna eventually shifting into the darkness locked in her heart, Nightmare Moon and battling her elder sister. 

Celestia felt conflicted, her own sister and one of her only remaining kind turned into a monster. Originally trying to reason with her sister was shown to be a failure, the feeling of betrayal and hurt entered her heart and mind made Celestia unsure how to handle such a problem. She always knew what to do with her sister by her side to defeat the evil villian and save their kingdom, what could REALLY do if the villian was her own sister, her mind in a constant shifting chaos felt like she had no choice. She did what she felt like she had to, to seal the evil away and save her Kingdom. With the Elements of Harmony by her side, she used the magic to seal away her sister dark heart away into the very moon to controlled. Celestia cried her heart out realizing what she did or what she had to do, eventually lowering the moon and leaving to her Kingdom and abandoning this piece of lost history once and for all. She ruled the Kingdom alone, having all important decision alone and defending Equestria alone, She felt so heartbroken by what she had down often wondering if what she did was really the correct choice. All she could do for her loyal subjects, was to smile and keep the Harmony...

Holy shit was this long, I didn’t really intend to write such a long thing but since they were alive for so long I had to. Hopefully I filled in certain gaps I wanted to and rewrote everything I wanted to in a way that made any sense.

_{Some extra info on Celestia, Luna and alicorns in general}

_{ALICORN INFO}

• Alicorns dont develop the typical old-time pony traits (I.E Feathered hooves and tail, Long unicorn tail and cloven hooves) Alicorns develop marking along their bodies as they get older (This also includes Cadence, Twilight and even Flurry to a small bit)
• Alicorns born within the old Alicorn Kingdom develop floating mains that also change naturally with age (Twilight and Cadence only get the changing main, not the flowing. Flurry gets neither trait.)
  -Alicorns from the Alicorn kingdom are born with their cutiemarks, they don’t fully know what it means and have to learn to discover it. (Twilight and Cadence didn’t have this, they werent born Alicorns nor in the kingdom, they had to earn them, Flurry also didn’t have this)
  -Alicorns can’t die via old age but can die by other means (Poisoning, murder, drowning, etc)

_{FACTS ON CELESTIA}

• Celestia has a fear of disappointing others, She wants ponies to like her and is afraid of failing them to any degree.
• Celestia knows how to fake a smile, during the time of ruling without Luna and questioning her choices she had to pretend everything was ok and had to fake being happy. She still does this and doesn’t like telling others how she feels.
• She did have a minor xenophobia problem due to how she grew up but she did grow out of this centuries after the banishment of Luna
• Celestia enjoys the ability to fly freely whenever she can due to her original Pegasi roots but it slowly became uncommon after the Elements were collected by the Mane 6 and she thus often kept inside the castle.
• Like Luna, they miss their old glory days of fighting off villains
• Celestia has a MASSIVE sweet-tooth, from cakes, cupcakes and pancakes. Celestia semi-knows that she is slightly overweight and often tries to go flying to keep her weight in check.

_{FACTS ON LUNA}

• Luna has some level of self-hatred, As she controlled dreams she would make her dreams constant nightmares as a sense of harm to herself. She has since then stopped such a treatment
• Luna is an insomniac, she often is awake for long periods of time and it didnt help that
  her job required her to be up at night. Causing her to be asleep mornings to afternoons.
• Luna often regrets both the actions she had done and leaving her old home history undocumented, But she still refuses to talk about in fear of any damage being done to it by tourists.
• Luna enjoys reading in her spare time, This normally happens while her elder sister is doing flying when she gets such a freetime. Luna’s favourite genre is horror.
  -Luna speaks in old Equestrian and has it as a habit due to it being the last time she spoke to other ponies (100 years ago)
