General bio:
Amethyst is the second born to Duchess Twilight Sparkle and Lady Starlight Glimmer, and she often felt the need to be the perfect carbon copy of Twilight. Her Alicorn mother always presented as confident, in charge, and all knowing in public and being the embodiment of magic and friendship meant Ammy felt as if she would never measure up. She constantly messed up and had a tendency to want to be quick to fight. However both Twilight and Starlight had drilled into all their children that their magic had the potential to be especially potent and they needed to be extra careful to not misuse their abilities; Ammy respected their wishes but that just meant she fought with her hooves and horn rather than her magic.

Amethyst had trouble making friends outside of her mother's friends group due to her quick temper and occasionally sharp tongue. However Ammy was closest to Carolina Chai, Fluttershy and Big MacIntosh's blind daughter. Carolina could soothe Amethyst faster than anyone else and Carolina was as gentle and kind as Fluttershy herself. The two are rarely seen apart. Ammy like both of her parents loves a good book and found out that she has a penchant for healing magical ailments, a particularly difficult branch of magic, and eventually goes to work under Nurse Redheart at the Ponyville Hospital.

Facts/Quirks:

• *Amethyst earned the tear in her ear from fighting off an older schoolyard bully who had picked on Carolina Chai to the point of physical harm, and neither Ammy or the bully would back down until the fight had gone just a tad too far. Later both she and the colt refused to reveal each other, took their punishments, and then actively avoided each other.

Amethyst was born on a trip to Canterlot, where a pregnant Twilight was so stressed dealing with high tensions between a rogue faction of Ember's dragons and some Minotaurs that she induced an early labor and gave birth at Canterlot Castle rather than a quiet home birth that she'd been hoping for.
