I’m so late, Soarin’ thought as he flew through the sky. The ponyville hospital was only a few minutes away, but if he wasn’t so behind, he would already be there. He felt a sting of pain in his right arm. Gahhh, he thought, gritting his teeth. His snout felt warm and sizzled, as if someone decided to cook a hay burger on it. Why did I think I could do it? He asked himself, baring the pain. Spitfire said the 100 double twirl wing barrel was dangerous…
Soarin’ realized more time was passing, and she could already of been born. He bolted faster, creating a blue trail behind him. He flew down the dirt road that lead to the hospital. He landed swiftly at the entrance and dashed in. Inside, ponies filled the seats. It was packed. Soarin’ ran to the front desk.
“Hello? Um, I need to see Rainbow Dash,” he asked the pony up front. She looked at him, then answered. “She’s in the delivery room, but only relatives or loved ones may see her at this time.” She said. Soarin’ thought. Was her her lover?? Well, of course. After everything that happened, it would her crazy for her not to love him. “I’m her partner. Please let me see her.” He said. The mare lifted an eyebrow, then sighed. “Oh, alright, but” she said, but Soarin’ couldn’t here the rest of her sentence, since he already was down the hall. He bursted through the door, and saw her. Rainbow Dash.
“Soarin’?” She said. “Where the hell have you been, I’m in labor!” She yelled. She tried to cross her arms, then winced, placing them back down. “I’m so sorry, hon.” He said, coming over to comfort her. “I was in the Wonderbolts infirmary, to get this stitched up, but I left before they could do it, because I knew I would miss this if I did and” he rambled, but Rainbow interrupted. “Soarin’!” She gasped. “That’s bad! You should of stayed! What if it gets infected or something, huh?” She asked. Soarin’ winced, but smiled. “It’s okay. I’ll be fine. Once you’re done, I’ll get it fixed, don’t worry.
“You know, foals can take over twenty four hours to birth?” She said, sternly. Soarin’ paused, then laughed. “I don’t think it will be that long,” he said with worry.
Soarin’ and Rainbow Dash talked for about an half hour, until Rainbow let out a painful groan. “Rainbow! Are you okay?” He asked. “GAHHHHH, I think she’s coming, Soarin’!” She said. “I’ll get the nurse!” He said, zooming out the door. “HURRRRRY!!” She yelled after him.
Soarin’ didn’t have anytime to tell the nurse his partner was going to have a baby. His brain was rushing and he couldn’t say anything. Instead, he grabbed the nurse and carried her to the room. Two more followed, asking what was happening. He tossed her in, and held the door for the the others. As the last nurse went in, he shut the door, and ran over to Rainbow Dash. “Breathe, Dashie. Just breathe.” He said, stroking her head. Dash looked like she was in unbearable pain, as she should be, since a literal horse was coming out of her. But she kept her cool as much as she could.
Within minutes, they could here the crying of a small little foal.
