Yep, I started with the original picture and painted over it/transformed its pieces/changed colors of the original background. Technically an edit :3

“Edit” implies alterations to an existing image, like a Photoshop job.
 
Redrawing the image isn’t an edit, even if the pose is the same. I’m guessing xbi might not consider it worthy of as it’s own art piece unless it’s done from scratch.
