A good friend (and brilliant artist) and I had a kind of art trade recently. He has his mind set on encouraging other artists to draw what they don’t usually draw to enhance their scope. So he asked me to draw a human Sunset Shimmer wearing clothes she does not wear in the show.  
I am a bit skeptical of the Equestria girls design, feeling that it somewhat falls into the long tradition of extremely thin characters that might give some insecure kids rather unhealthy ideas about beauty standards. At the same time I must admit that I stuck to the design for the drawing I made for this friend of mine.  
Giving Sunset clothes she doesn’t wear in the show was an easy idea though for I like the color contrast between the Trixie’s clothing and Sunset’s hair. To complete the wizzardy look I also gave her the Stormking’s Staff of Sacanas.  
Sometimes I wonder if pony Sunset and Trixie ever met before Sunset went to the human world. I think there is a number of fanfictions with that idea. In any case both of them are characters with major similarities but also major differences and for good or bad I think they can complement each other quite well in story settings.
