Implying the current writing team is spineless compared to Faust  
(based on circumstantial evidence at that) like I think this image does  
is a bit insulting to them in MY HUMBLE OPINION.

That’s why I don’t like either fandom; not the fans, but the mess a few leave behind for the rest to clean up.  
What I think only a few people (including myself) realize is that it’s pointless to argue about what has already happened.Whatever it is, it’s done. Period. Sure, “it” could’ve been better, and I sure as Karzahni would like to change “it,” but does anyone here have a time machine so I can go back and fix it?  
 
Believe me, I’m just as mad as the rest of them about this, screaming mad at that,  
but it’s done and there’s not a damned thing I or anyone else can do to fix it.

Come to think about it, this whole controversy was One Big Mistake.  
Let me explain.  
-Some animator goofs up Derpy’s eyes in episode 1, kick-starting the Derpy bandwagon  
(<sarcasm> Thanks a lot </sarcasm>)  
-Miscommunication between on-high and Tabitha resulted in “offensive” voice  
-Both sides of the internet automatically assume the worst of the other  
instead of, you know, DOING RESEARCH???

She said that Derpy Hooves and Ditzy Do we’re different characters. Derpy Hooves was an animator’s joke that fans latched onto. Ditzy Do was a pony Lauren came up with independently who was going to be a klutz.

I still have a problem with her admitting that while “Ditzy Doo” would have been the go to idea when they needed to use the character, but she said she would bow to fan pressure about the name.

Actually, if Lauren Faust had still been in charge at that time, the controversy probably wouldn’t have happened, as she envisioned Derpy as a silent background character doing Harpo Marx-style gags. Which, as much as I love Derpy’s voices, would have been all kinds of awesome.

As long as the show is still marketed towards little girls, we’re going to have to put up with the crap people throw at us.

It’s just filler text. The idea is that if Lauren had been in charge last year when people on tumblr said Derpy was offensive, she’d’ve kept Derpy the same and written a rebuttal, instead of running off with her tail between her legs, apologizing profusely and censoring Derpy.
 
It’s based off of her response after pretty much the same thing happened on Ms. Magazine when someone said the S1 premier was offensive.

Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood…
