Mirrored designs. It happened very often in G4 and G4.5 and probably still will happen in G5.

Pretty much all images and gifs show their Cutie Marks on just one flank, which means it is intentional. The plushies are the only exception!
It’s probably an animation error. The g5 plushies have cutie mark on each flank.
I suspect she’s using a wire in this scene.
