You do realize that this had more to do with DHX’s alleged falling out with Hasbro then the drama, although it could be another factor, combined with Hasbro purchasing Boulder Media and such.
I kinda doubt it being on Netflix mattered, since Hasbro preferred to release their movies in theaters at the time. Even if it was on Netflix, it wouldn’t have gained enough views.
But i see your points, so i won’t argue with that.

To me it was the fact that the franchise became niche after Fandom drama. It was so niche it became lesser known by the mainstream and viewership on Discovery Family declined despite six more season renewals.
Not to mention the MLP movie underperformed at the box office despite making four times the money from the 6 million bucks. Leading to no direct sequel to the movie. And nope, ANG/G5 doesn’t count since it’s a sequel to FiM and not the 2017 movie.

Edited
However, the leaks are in my view, the main reason.
Pandemic or not. But i see what you mean.
Yea
That could be another reason.
I thought Hasbro moved G5 to Netflix due to the pandemic.
I think its why Hasbro moved G5 to Netflix.

True.
@Hollowfox Jaeger
Also true.
Even so it brought controversy, just like every season since Season 3.
