@Wayneponeth
It’s definitely one of those things that’d probably be a lot worse in real life than it is in fantasy, but that’s kind of a lot of things about fiction. Like, there’s actually a LOT of things in MLP that’d be horrifying in real life, like the main characters do a lot of things that there’s a lot of civil unrest about in the real world XD
And I’m leaving it at that. Like, I refuse to elaborate more out of fear of this comment thread suddenly being locked with 500 replies XD
@Badumsquish
Equestria! Where pet play and semi-slavery are legal and accepted!
That actually kind of sounds like Pokemon. The disobedience mechanic makes it very clear they can do whatever they want and you can’t do anything about it. :P
@Wayneponeth
I kind of think it would be more okay in Equestria than in our world because that kind of behavior seems common there. Like, ponies keep pets which are totally sapient in that world, and like they keep cows and sheep as farm animals despite those creatures literally having the same intelligence as they do. That’s sort of the mindset of the object ponies I draw. You buy them, and they want to be owned, but they have rights and choice. Like, if they don’t like how you treat them they leave XD
@Background Pony #E59F
My idea for them is that they’re largely irreverent toward other creatures, and Aria and her buddies were the weird outliers for actually going to land and attacking the ponies. The rest would look at that and be like “why on earth would you want to ‘rule’ a bunch of tiny, short-lived, land-bound ponies?” :P
Agreed
Be careful. Siren moms are VERY protective :P
She’s not a bad mother. She’s just overprotective like a mother bear :D
You are correct
But you also want to turn smol fish into sushi.
We must commit nom, friends. Or else, we can’t snuggle smol fish
Do not antagonize the kaiju MILF.
Just put down her little guppy and back away slowly XD
We’re toast.

Hopefully the little pony doesn’t mind that treatment. :P
But they’re more likely to try and catch one and put it in a pen and fed it and pet it and take it for walks XD

@Dirty Bit
Perhaps the Loch Ness Monster was a siren who decided to play a practical joke that got way out of hand XD
This is a mother siren, not that pesky Loch Ness Monster
Obviously their reason would be “Because they’re sooooo cute! I mean don’t you guys want to keep some of them!?”
Like her :P
Sounds like a good idea for her, but a bad idea for the pirates.
