Seriously, if dark magic is powered by “Anger, fear and sadness” then remember, those are all emotions quite valid to feel when defending your friends from a threat normally too strong for you.
If some-pony wields those emotions, and thus magic for the sake of their friends in a life or death moment, the only bad thing there is that once she’s done frying the bad guy, she’ll be crying in her friends embrace after.
(Unless they are strong enough to endure that pain, but even then, she’ll probably benefit, and want to benefit, from a heart to heart talk with those she trusts.)
Thus, once again, “Dark is not Evil”.
I mean it’s pretty good fic fuel! Magic that doesn’t exist because of unity and friendship, a forgotten kind of magic made from hate, fear, and sadness that was still potent enough to turn a single unicorn into something that could challenge the Alicorn sisters.
