I wouldn’t call Tyssen Hesse a “fanartist,” as he’s worked with Sega, and IDW professionally for years now.
 
In fact, many artists, writers for the official comics, and some Sega of America employees were formally fanartists/fan-writers. Even Sonic comic writer sense 2006 Ian Flynn used to write fan-comic stories in his youth.

Odd, as I see nothing wrong with the new G4 designs. We can’t expect them to keep the Lauren Faust style forever, and said style seems to of had some ingluence on G5.
 
That said, as Shimmering stated, there’s not enough fan backlash to change the style, and the G5 pilot movie is almost finished, unlike Sonic.

Well unlike Sega, g5 is done my Hasbro, and almost every sonic fan is saying that sonic original design was horrible, so Sega had an fan artist in to make it better, and Hasbro surely did the same with their g5 movie, just to be cautious with it.

I mean it feels fans now think they can get movies to do the same thing every time I definitely recall seeing someone say G5 should also change this designs And they could get them to it because of sonic

Well, some fans are going to be entitled no matter what.
 
Still, if they didn’t listen to fan criticism, the Sonic movie would’ve failed. So there is good from fan backlash too.

Some did, and some didn’t. Even some critics joked they looked like Shrek, and such.  
Even some general audiences know how characters originally looked.
 
Truthfully, the newer TMNT looked better in motion then in still images.

That, and maybe the extremely high dislike ratio on the original trailer videos, especially on Youtube.
 
Oddly, the media tried to demonize the Sonic movie for actually listening to fans, and frankly if they didn’t there would be no “Sonic 2.” I understand you can’t please every fan, but hopefully Hollywood learned a lesson from Sonic.

Well, the sequels kinda bombed regardless. Kinda a shame as “TMNT2: Out of the Shadows” improved alot of things the previous movie got wrong. (Like they made the Foot Soldiers actually ninjas instead of gun-toting terrorists.)

Well, technically he’s not just a fanartist anymore as Tyssen Hesse has worked with Sega and the IDW StH comics for years now.
 
But yeah, the new design looks better. I’m glad it’s not an exact copy of the game design, (the uni-eye would look weird in live action) but looks accurate, and unique enough to stand on it’s own.
