When Bright Eyes first comes to the school, Twilight has the Young Six give her a tour.

Gallus: Just what?
 
Silverstream: Oooh! Is it too secret?
 
Bright Eyes: No. But I’m not sure you guys wanna know?
 
Yona: Know about what?
 
Bright Eyes: Well… in Manehattan, I heard a lot things said about each of your kind. Well, except your’s, Silverstream. Since Hippogryphs spent most of their lives hidding under water.
 
Silverstream: That’s true.
 
Bright Eyes: And the things I heard, were not nice things.
 
Smolder: And just how not nice were they?
 
Bright Eyes: Very not nice. I was told, (to Gallus and Smolder) that all griffins and dragons are rude, selfish, nasty, greedy, jerks and bullies who anything but nice! Especially to ponies.
 
(Gallus and Smolder frown, feeling offended)
 
Bright Eyes: (to Ocellus) And that Changelings are vicious love-sucking parasites! Even after you turned good.
 
(Ocellus is on the verge of tears)
 
Bright Eyes: (to Yona) And that yaks are loud, destructive, obsessed with perfection, and smash everything in sight!
 
Yona: Yaks not smash everything…
 
(Gallus, Smolder, Ocellus, Yona look saddened by the fact that some ponies think bad of their kind)
 
Bright Eyes: But I never listened to any of that junk!
 
(Young Six are surprised)
 
Yona: Pony not think bad things about us?
 
Bright Eyes: Absolutely not.
 
Smolder: How come?
 
Bright Eyes: Because I was taught to never judge a book by it’s cover. And since then, I’ve lived by it. I know that not all griffions, dragons, yaks, and especially changelings are bad. And I’ve had some experiences to prove it. When my family and I went to vist my grandponies in Fillydelphia, I met a dragon named Mina and she was really nice. And on my way to the school, I met a griffion named Gabby and she’s the opposite of the griffions of Griffion Stone!
 
Gallus: You have no idea.
 
Bright Eyes: And comming here and meeting all of you, it just proves that I was right not to listen to all the bad thing’s I’ve heard about your kind. I just wish I could’ve taken a stand when I heard those hecklings.
 
Smolder: So why didn’t you?
 
Bright Eyes: I may have never liked those things ponies said about your kind, but I’m afraid I’m not good at standing up for others. Or myself for that matter.
 
Silverstream: (gasps) But why?!
 
Bright Eyes: Because I’m…, well, you know? I’m…
 
Ocellus: Shy? It’s okay, I’m shy too. But do you want to know how I got past it? (comes closer to Bright Eyes and rests her hoof on her shoulder) Knowing I’ve got good friends by my side.
