while i personally don’t disregard the musical theory that must have went behind making Trout Mask Replica sound artistically cacophonic, i believe the album’s backstory of psychotic artistic control completely ruins it retroactively. hurting people in the name of some supposed betterment of their art is idiotic no matter the art, let alone what is essentially a glorified shitpost.
