Description

After a few weeks of being in slavery, Littlepip saw a familiar palette of mane out of the corner of her eye during a lunch break, and who would have thought that she would meet the one for whom she left the shelter in a place like this…

I might write more myself, but don’t let that stop you from giving your own take on the concept of zebra slave Littlepip. I’d probably read it in a heartbeat.

Gentlemen. Can your excellent work be used to present it as a story / fanfic about your own work, in which both of you are mentioned on fimfiction? Such creativity should not be wasted!

Ah, my mistake. I did not see a tag for male or stallion, so I assumed they were female as well. It’s a bit late to correct now. I hope you don’t mind if I stand by my mistake in the future, and refer to them as a mare.

That is unless we see definitive proof of stallion parts, in which case I suppose that would require some creative thinking.

I love your fan fiction to my drawings) However, the zebra in the picture is a stallion hdd

Yes, he is a little effeminate, but this is in the likeness of the Japanese, which sometimes it is difficult to determine what gender they are) And so, this fic is just fire)

Weeks had gone by as Littlepip was adjusting to life as a slave. Although valued for her technical skill, it was one of drudgery and long hours of toil within the warcamp’s workshop. Despite her master’s praise and compliments of the work she did, his assurances it would further the cause of the Legion and bring all of Equestria under Imperial rule filled her with shame and regret. She felt no connection to the kingdom that was before the bombs fell, but knowing the miserable life she now lived would be shared by all ponies still living on the surface didn’t feel like a thing she could feel proud of. And of course, there had been the many, many times the zebra legionaries laid hooves on her because she was weak, and small, and still quite attractive.

Another such day was halfway done, with Littlepip having requested a bathroom break from her taskmaster to relieve herself of her pressing need. No proper facilities like in the Stable existed for slaves, and so she found a secluded spot around the corner of a wall of a ruined building that had been integrated into the Legion camp. Littlepip had learned the hard way not to show her face near the latrines. Bad things happened to isolated ponies around there. Just as Pip finished relieving herself against the wall and headed back to the tent she was expected to work inside, she stopped as the corner of her eye caught a peculiar sight.

She turned her head, the blinked. She had seen two equines walking side by side. While one was obviously a zebra, a normal sight, the other’s black body and white mane at first could be mistaken for another zebra. But the red and yellow streaks in their mane and tail couldn’t belong to a zebra’s natural colouring. She thought she had been imagining it, but now that she took a longer look, it was becoming incontrovertible. This was a fellow pony and unicorn, moving freely side by side with a zebra instead of behind, and chained, or wearing either a bomb collar around her neck or inhibitor ring on her horn, like Littlepip currently did. The immaculate clothing she wore nearly matched the dress of the mare next to her. Extravagant even for a Legion officer. And much cleaner than the filthy shirt Littlepip wore as her only Stable clothing left to her. No ordinary slave was afforded such privilege and luxury. And yet, as Littlepip watched in shock and rising incomprehension, she couldn’t deny the identity of the mare’s cutie mark. She had found Velvet Remedy!

“CORNELIA!” The voice of her master thundered as his hoof slammed the worktable in front of her, where the scattered parts lay disassembled before her “Do not ignore you master as you’re spoken to! I asked why you are staring vacantly at your work instead of doing it!”

Had she wandered back to her workplace in such a daze that her memory was blank? Had she just imagined seeing Velvet again? Was this a daydream of hers? She looked up at her owner, still showing confusion.

“S-sorry! I’m- I… I-” She stammered, her master’s impatience growing on his expression “There was a pony I think I recognized entering the camp.”

That actually seemed to mollify her master more than she expected.

“Oh, good to hear! I was wondering when my sister would be back. She often travels to Appleloosa to treat with your kind. How eager your fellow ponies are to sell each other to the Legion. Did she bring back a dozen? Two dozen? Did you recognise any Stable dwellers?”

“Just one.”

His expression hardened again.

“And she didn’t look to be wearing a slave collar.”

It worsened.

“And she was walking beside your sister, I assume?”

Now he looked so angry, Littlepip ducked her head.

“Ah, and she… was dressed in similar expensive clothing.”

Littlepip decided to cover her head with her hooves now.

“Eh, master?”

His response was a buck with his hindlegs that sent Littlepip sprawling. The sand scraped against her body, though she did not notice any blood fortunately.

“Are you insinuating my sister consorts with ponykind like you were in any way equal to her?” His speech was dangerously slow as if to allow Littlepip ample time to consider the gravity of the meaning.

“I- I only told you what I saw, sir. I meant to imply nothing by it.” From as far as Pip could tell, Domnitius interpreted it as a serious insult against his sister, and she knew better than to mess with the family of the biggest, nastiest colts from back in the stable.

“My apologies.” He seemed to calm down with unconvincing speed “Clearly this is some misunderstanding from a culturally unassimilated unicorn. You must have seen it wrong.”

Littlepip didn’t know who he was trying to convince, but she knew not to ask.

“Finish your workload, Cornelia. I’m going to welcome my sister home. Be a good servant and go to bed when you’re done.” With that, Domnitius left her alone inside the workshop.

Littlepip tried to continue her work, but couldn’t keep her mind off of what she had seen. Had she indeed found Velvet? And what in Celestia’s name was she doing among slavers? Why was her master so mad at what she had reported? It was already dark by the time Littlepip finally placed the last crate of sorted electronics by her overseer’s workbench. She stepped outside into the pitch black and cold night, the braziers and torches of the camp offering the only source of light or heat.

Littlepip could go back to the slave pens, allow a legionnaire to escort her to her tent, probably after suffering his unwanted attention, lie down on her bedroll and hope the morning would bring a new day with new purpose, and no further ghosts of her past to torment her with questions, and maybe she would forget all about Velvet Remedy and conclude this sighting was just her mind playing tricks. Or, the terribly inquisitive side of her suggested, put the wire cutters and the bit of metal wire she had stolen from the workshop to use to sneak her way over towards the side of the camp she knew her master’s tent was to find out if he had indeed reunited with his sister, and whether the pony she had been with was truly Velvet Remedy. It was a dangerous proposition to even try and if she was caught, Littlepip expected nothing better than that by sunrise, she would see the dawn from the elevation of a cross, on which she was suffer a slow, lingering, undignified end. But that part of her that had gotten her into the mess in the first place, she simply couldn’t deny. She wanted to know if Velvet Remedy was safe.

The night was her best concealment as she moved through the Legion warcamp. She avoided the torchlight, hid from legionaries moving about, even threw a couple of stones to create a distracting noise for the guards while she dashed out of cover and into the next hiding place. The wire fences could be cut with the clippers for easy shortcuts and the only lock on her path through one of the slave pens she was only to pick with the piece of wire. At last she found Domnitius’ tent, fortunately placed along the edge of a wall marking the divisions of the camp, shielding potential eavesdroppers from sight. It was tall enough for an equine to stand at full height, and with a wide circumference. Littlepip cautiously lifted the tent flap to look inside.

There she saw Domnitius, the stallion she had to call master. Directly opposite she saw the zebra she presumed was his sister, garbed in the same dress as before. From this angle she could also see two deep scars across her cheek, just below the eye. And standing beside her was indeed Velvet Remedy. She appeared to be shivering, though likely not from the cold. Domnitius’ rage had returned, as he spoke loudly. The other zebra was stoic by comparison.

“…and a pony, at that? My dear sister, I had believed you just celibate out of religious excess. I had prayed it not true you were of the delusion of lust for mares. My own sister, a self-declared lesbian! And of all the women in our empire, you took an Equestrian unicorn as your…your ‘husband’?” Her master raged, just barely keeping his voice low enough to not reveal this conversation to all around his tent.

“The rites have been completed, and we are bound as one.” The other zebra took Velvet’s hoof in her own, and she turned to smile “There is enough precedent for mares to wed in scripture, going back to pre-war days. And the slave codes permit this union also. As long as Velvet is technically my property, your approval has no bearing on us being together.”

“They are the enemy! They destroyed the empire with their foul sorcery. And they will destroy it again from inside if you let one seduce you, you… you… who-” Domnitius raised his hoof in anger, but stopped himself at the glare his sister gave him.

“To strike a flaminicus is to suffer the lash, brother!” The zebra mare warned “To hurt a slave is to pay restitution to her owner, so I would think twice before hurting Velvet. Do I make myself clear?”

A tense moment passed, in which Littlepip could swear she heard her master sob. His sister gently approached him before placing a hoof on his shoulder.

“I know your heart, brother. And I assure you now: I want to restore civility to Equestria under the empire still. That this unicorn drew my eye will not change that, or my strict adherence to our ways. Velvet understands and accepts the necessity.”

“Father would not have wanted this! He would never sanction this!” Domitius denied, shaking his head.

“Father is dead. He died a true zebra. And so that makes you the eldest stallion. Despite my higher status, I live under you hoof. And so I ask you, as your loving sister, that you grant me your dowr-”

Without warning, Littlepip was suddenly, and roughly, shoved forward into the tent, drawing the attention of all three occupants as she faceplanted into the dirt.

“What do you think you’re doing outside your tent, slave?” She heard from directly behind her.

“Cornelia?”

“Pip!?” Exclaimed Velvet Remedy.

A heavy hoof stepped on the back of her head, shoving it into the sand as the zebra who caught her pressed his rifle against her muzzle.

“You know each other?” Dominitius asked, looking at Velvet Remedy.

“Not for much longer. This one belongs on a cross now.” The guard stated.

“Stand down. Brother, I request you leave us to interrogate this trespasser.” The mare intervened.

The hoof lifted off her head as the guard stepped back. Littlepip looked up at her master, who appeared displeased to see her. He slowly nodded to his sister, and began to leave. Only to stop right before Littlepip to press a hoof against her shoulder and whisper in her ear.

“You touch my sister, you will wish they’d crucify you, Cornelia.” She spat out her slave name like it was an epithet.

Once she was alone with the couple, Velvet addressed Pip.

“What are you doing here? Why are you outside? How in Celestia’s name did you become a slave?” There was an urgent desire for answers from Velvet, but Littlepip had her own.

“I could ask you the same! Why do you consort with these slavers, Velvet? Don’t you see what they do?”

Velvet’s presumed wife interfered to give her own answers before Velvet could.

“Little pony, I am Junia Severus, shaman and liaison with Appleloosa for 9th Cohort. What do they call you?”

“It’s Littlepip.” She said as she picked herself up off the floor.

“I mean your proper name, as a slave.”

“It’s… it’s Cornelia. Cornelia Servia.” Part of her felt like it died every time Littlepip used the name imposed on her by the zebras “Could somepony tell me what the hell is going on?”

Junia did not seem to appreciate that outburst, but Velvet stepped forward to explain.

“You likely know by now that I left the Stable because I felt trapped, restrained in there. Well, I discovered the outside wasn’t much different. I found a place called Appleloosa, where they trade slaves. There I tried to make a difference as a healer. That is where I met Junia.” Velvet lay her head against the mare, causing Pip to grit her teeth “She frequented Appleloosa as the Legion’s contact, and she was impressed that I’d care for the slaves.”

“She comes there to purchase slaves!” Littlepip yelled, hoping to cut through Velvet’s strange admiration of the zebra.

“That’s awful!” Velvet exclaimed “How can you say such a thing? Junia was the most supportive of my efforts to care for the slaves of all creatures since I arrived in Appleloosa!”

“She is right, I’m afraid.” Junia admitted “I did purchase you from the slavers.”

“To get me out of that horrible place!” Velvet insisted on rationalizing her own purchase “Because you believed your kind in the Legion could learn from me. You had faith in me, and I have trust you want to do right.”

“You still are a slave, mine.” Junia looked pained, or pretended to if Littlepip’s intuition was right.

“I know, I know. The Legion keep slaves. But that doesn’t mean all are evil. You’re protecting me from them because most will not understand our love.”

Littlepip felt sick to her stomach as the naïve affection Velvet Remedy was showing for this vile slave trader!

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing! I gave up everything I had in Stable 2 to go find you, to bring you home! Now you work with slavers and make excuses for these evil zebras!?”

“I didn’t ask to be rescued!” Velvet Remedy shot back in frustration “My life isn’t for you or the Overmare to decide! And really, evil zebras? I expected better even from you, Littlepip! The war was over two centuries ago. The Legion wants to bring peace, purpose and justice back in Equestria. Maybe they’re not the Royal Sisters, and maybe slavery has just become an unfortunate reality of the Wasteland. But Junia is a good zebra. She believes in her cause, and I believe in her! Littlepip, I… I love this mare. With all my soul.” She looked Junia in the eyes, and gently kissed the zebra she considered her wife.

Littlepip felt as if she could throw up. She even tasted the foul bile in her throat. All the abuse and humiliation she suffered boiled to the surface. And… envy. Was this what jealousy felt like? All that time she had crushed on Velvet Remedy, the Stable’s singer celebrity, others tempered her expectation that she was straight, and not interested in mares. Now it turned out she was, and it was for someone not her. And a Legion zebra at that!

“You haven’t seen what they do, Velvet!” She shook her head as the tears flowed “You didn’t suffer the abuse I have! You won’t have to suffer… what I…” The realization that she was already scheduled for execution now hit her hard.

She was going to die knowing the mare whose love she had desired, and whose life she wanted to save, was under the spell of her tormentors, and she would perish an ignominious death, alone.

Perhaps sensing what Pip was hinting at, Junia stepped forward “Brother!”

Her owner re-entered the tent, amidst a tearful slave, worried in-law, and estranged sister.

“I know your objections, and I heard your complaints. But my decision stands. As per the customs of matrimony, I need to ask you for a dowry to grant Velvet Remedy.” Junia stated authoritatively.

“I… I was wrong. I will never approve of your proclivities, or of your choice to wed a pony. But you’re my sister. And I owe you that dowry. How can I make it up to you?” Domnitius conceded, stuck between grief and frustration.

“Your pony slave is condemned to die. She will do you no good. If you truly wish to make amends, do right by my wife. Transfer Cornelia to her as a part of the dowry I owe, that she’ll live on in bondage to her. And Velvet, you will loan her back to Domnitius for labour. And let us speak of this no more.” Junia looked at each of them as she issued her demand.

“Fine. Consider this as clemency, Cornelia.” Her former master agreed.

“Thank you! Thank you!” Velvet nuzzled her wife affectionately.

Littlepip collapsed back onto the floor. After all her foolhardy efforts to rescue Velvet Remedy, here she was, consorting with the slaver scum that held her in bondage. And now made into her mistress in a perverse exchange of favour to appease her! Truly, Celestia had a sense of humour. And it was a very twisted one.

Nice :D I’m all for lesbians, so it was an ironically funny feeling when a lesbian started to date a stallion, especially one who’s part of some shitheads, but this is even better :D

^ Regardless, I felt like something’s off with that zebra cuz she looked more feminine than masculine even when most zebras have asexual body type.

Oh hamburgers!
I don’t know why but this makes me feel bad for Littlepip the most, even though this is the most comical. I hope Velvet would vouch for her. :P
