Hardly! She has one of the worst designs ever, in and out of mlp. Like she looks NOTHING like how anyone would imagine a fire alicorn, she has tooth paste ass hair and BRIGHT MAGENTA for her coat?? AND HER MAKE UP DONT GET ME STARTED. Seriously makes no sense how they messed up her design in so many ways.

Her coat is way, way oversaturated and doesn’t play well at all with the sparkly Rarity-colored eyeshadow, the green stripe in her mane has too much contrast with the white and shades non-complimentarily with it, and the braids around her ears are both A Bit Too Much and seem at odds with the rest of her characterization. She comes across like the product of a Ponymaker randomizer that just picked a collection of features off a list and mashed them together with no thought as to how they interact.

You can get almost all the way there by leaving out the ear braids, aligning the hue of the hair stripe with the rest of the hair, and desaturating her coat to a slightly less eye-bleedy value of purple, maybe tilting it a little more towards violet.

I think it’s just emblematic of the fact that Opaline’s design is so bad
I honestly don’t get why people keep saying that. She looks fine to me.

I’m not too fond of them myself, but that’s not necessarily something I blame on the designer or the artist. I think it’s just emblematic of the fact that Opaline’s design is so bad it’s difficult to have a redesign that is simultaneously recognizable as her and aesthetically pleasing.
