I feel like we will get a confirmation as soon as the special gets teased. It looks like a power up, but it could just be magic overflowing from her, and eventually it’ll calm down and she’ll look more normal.

I admit, I’m not really so sure about Sunny Starscout x Hitch Trailblazer. I think its more likely that one or both of them will find somepony else in the future. Nevertheless, I look forward to more friendship moments between them in the upcoming special and animated series in Spring and Fall 2022.
