The design is known best as the VK 45.02, its actually one of two designs under that designation as the other one has a forwards mounted turret, the VK 45.02 was designed by Ferdinand Porche after his VK 45.01 lost the contract, he went on to start working on this project then later on the Panzer VIII Maus project.
