Sad but true…
Haaaaahahaaahaahaah Actally more than a majority of characters.
And more than Celestia in the whole 9 seasons.
She looks much more like a “primary” type of person than actual improvement on her part. As she quickly forgave her sister from betraying her and ruining their lives without too much prompting. She simply cannot be mad for a long type.
Agreed. Every character having a completely likable personality with zero flaws is boring.
The girl literally had guards carry around and unfurl a red carpet for her. Her egotistical nature will definitely be entertaining.
I don’t mind if she stays as she was in the movie, it’s fun, besides it would give the group some uniqueness if all the characters would be different.
To complain about it being the cause for her embarrassment. She didn’t bring it to save the day. She IS a shallow character. The majority of her dialogue is her talking about herself. XD
She could be a much deeper character. But as far as we have been shown, she is not.

Totally agree. Pipp is very helpful actually, and so is Zipp, but most just sees them as background ponies.
This I can get behind. It’s better to say we don’t know much about her than say she is a useless shallow Instagram celebrity or whatever anyway. I think what partially makes people call her those things is probably due to our stigma against modern technologies. It’s like “she uses phone so she’s bad!” but like I’m pretty sure some people browse this site with phones, right?
I think the main reason for her being seen as a useless character is that we never really got to know her. She never really had a scene just talking with Sunny, so we don’t really get to know Pipp beyond “the instagrammer pony.” We know Izzy was a lonely unicorn looking for friends, we know Zipp is a pegasus longing to fly and tired of the lie her family lives in, we know Hitch is a loyal childhood friend juggling his friendship and duty as sheriff, but what do we know about Pipp outside of “the instagrammer pony?”

Pipp seems to eventually do things out of her own decisions. From the moment she greeted Izzy and danced happily with her and Sunny she is shown to genuinely like the group. And the way she talked to Sunny sounds like she actually wanted to help Sunny instead of being forced to. She could’ve been reluctant and grumpy the whole trip but she wasn’t. I think she became a better pony already.
She helped Sunny and her sister only because she turned into a criminal, and alternative was jail with her mother or being completely alone, a social pariah.
Not much of a decision in there.
But that makes room for character development too. She can become a much better pony.
Heh. I’m sure Tsugumi Iki did a great job, but now I’m wishing she was voiced by Atsuko Tanaka.
