From the movie I got the feeling that Zipp is a couple of years older, so until otherwise stated in the show I will go with that. Overall it doesn’t matter all that much, Zipp is still the heir and they are sisters.
So is the twins situation another “Applejack, her husband Big Macintosh and daughters Apple Bloom and Granny Smith” situation?
What situation? Those are facts. But seriously, twins or sisters, it doesn’t change much. They’re still siblings. Would have been more interesting tho if Pipp was the older one and the favorite child. While Zipp was picked by Haven as next queen because of spoilers.

Honestly, I trust staff more here than some random magazine. If they mentioned it in the film or, later, in the series, that would be a different story.
@Wiimeiser
Yeah I mean we could also have two sisters ruling together like Celestia and Luna, but really none of these has nothing to do with them being twins or not.
Again, what does it matter? They’re sisters and twins are still sisters. What changes in their relationship if they’re twins or not? I’m genuinely confused.

And Zipp can still be the older twin (which would still make her heir to the throne)
Same.
