This exactly. My phone has a nicely functional browser, I don’t need to start fragmentating my use of websites by installing 50 different mobile applications. I stick to a few simple/generic apps to do everything.

Why does every single website need a fricking custom app? There are hundreds of perfectly good RSS reader apps; you can install one and aggregate everything into one instead of wasting space (both in memory and on the home screen) with extra apps for each site.

I have never seen a daily limit on the website proper. Why would there be one on a mobile API where images can be trimmed or omitted, and data can be sent out as streamlined JSON–AND you get prominent ads taking up screen estate?

Mobile technology is so damn overrated and is becoming increasingly crippled. WAKE UP PEOPLE.
