The magic of Equestria becomes corrupted. The corruption enters ponies through the horn, transforming them into twisted monstrous versions of themselves and driving them to slaughter any non-corrupted they see. This includes the Princesses. The story mainly follows Cheerilee and Scootaloo as they struggle to survive.
