I’m honestly not too broken up about that, as you’re either having characters mumbling while writing during dialogue, or you have to pay close attention to blocking and scene structure when creating a scene. I tend to be of the opinion that Spike was created for that purpose for g4, so when it came for non-unicorns to write something, they wouldn’t have to worry as much about how they were going to do that.
Also, g5 is more urban fantasy than traditional fantasy, so it’s a bit more forgivable that they use their hooves in such ways, at least IMO.
