Description

My first 3D character, using 16k polygons. It’s easier than it seems, just takes a lot of work. I used the Funko Vinyl Figure of Applejack for reference, but made her a bit more show accurate by changing the snout and giving her an ass. I’m definitely open to criticism from more experienced 3D artists, since I’m still not very good at this stuff. I wasn’t able to draw the mouth either, it just looked weird no matter how I tried it.
Software used:
-Zbrush for sculpting
-3ds Max for retopology/unwrap
-Marmoset Toolbag for baking normal map and AO
-Substance Painter for… painting it
The left column was rendered using Iray in Substance Painter. The middle column was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. The right is just Max
It sure is nice to have all these student licenses.
PS: if anyone wants to download this model and textures, send me a PM. I want to wait before releasing it properly until I’ve rigged the model for animation, though that might take me a while since I’ve become very busy.
