yep the g5 movie marked the beginning of a new era, where as the g4 one was practically something that expanded the world of mlp as we know of, and some new species/characters as well.

It’s simple really, the g4 movie was an out of character mess, whereas the g5 movie was the beginning of that generation’s characters, so there was no prior version oc them to misrepresent.

Ah, yes, that’s right. McCarthy and Haber were responsible for G4 going down the shitter after Faust got fired. How could I forget? Never mind that said changes were made at the behest of Hasbro, meaning that McCarthy and Haber had absolutely nothing to do with said changes, let alone had any control over them, and said changes were implemented well into the show.

Not sure if it’s been a while since you’ve watched the movie, but there was absolutely no product placement in the 2017 movie.

First of all, the movie didn’t do well enough to warrant a sequel. Second of all, the film came out when G4 was on its last legs, so there would be no point to making a sequel to a movie based on a cartoon that was already on its way to ending two years from when the film was released. Third, no one wanted a sequel. Finally, G5 was going to happen sooner or later given that the franchise gets rebooted every ten years or so. And G4 will be “forgotten?” Given the huge amounts of fan content still being produced to this day, I’d say you’re full of shit.

If it were a song at the end of the movie credits, I would like it more. But the original opening and song was just more fantasy like and gave it the feeling of adventure rather than a Dreamworks ripoff.

Still the 2017 movie should have gotten a sequel so it can redeem itself, but instead we got a reboot and G4 will be forgotten.
