I’m pretty sure it does. After all, Sunset Shimmer went through the mirror before Twilight became Celestia’s student as a foal, and when she came back enough time had passed in Equestria that Twilight was a grown adult, but on the human world only a couple of years had passed with Sunset in high school.
Maybe time just works different, you know, for reference, Narnia. Maybe time in the human realm goes by slower than in equestria.
It still works — But why would you want to visit a dead, scorched, hell-planet in the grips of a runaway greenhouse effect?
