Description
As Skarn pondered the perplexing nature of ponies, Light Winds trotted along at a more sedate pace. Just as he caught up with her she took point again—bounding ahead to a certain patch of bright pink and royal purple flowers.
There was an odd break in the forest ceiling just above the bed of flowers. Sunlight peeked through it just enough to bathe them and a smaller patch of grass just big enough for Light Winds in its warmth. Light had her eyes closed and her wings open as she let it wash over her, breathing in deeply and exhaling a contented sigh.
A breeze stirred up and drew up several loose petals, just then. They all trailed behind her mane and tail—even getting caught up in them before another gust blew them back again and the petals up. As they all fluttered down for the last time Skarn couldn’t help but compare Light Winds to a tree gently swaying in the wind, her mane shedding its leaves to make way for the new as they fell through or around her flowing tail to the grassy earth below.
The emotions emanating from her were… serene. Peaceful to the point where Skarn would feel a little envious; through all the dangers and grief she alone had been through the past few days, she was still able to let go and enjoy something as simple as the sun shining down on her.
