They specifically had to reduce the eyelashes due to technical reasons, as one staff said on Instagram. In the Animation Magazine article, the director mentioned having small eyes a necessity too.
Also, you can’t just manipulate 3D in 2D and expect that to be legit. You cannot account for all angles, lighting issues, technical issues..
