It’s already been a year since My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ended. Tara Strong voiced the main character, Twilight Sparkle, who learned a lot about friendship and ascended to royalty as Princess of Equestria. Strong was also in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, as Mac’s big brother Terrence; because of his rough voice, he is one of Strong’s least favorite roles to play. Characters with raspy voices do a number on a voice actor’s vocal cords.
Kathleen Barr voiced Trixie, a prideful unicorn who was one of Twilight’s rivals/counterparts/foils. She first appeared in “Boast Busters” as an arrogant traveling magician; after her feats were disproven, she later returns in “Magic Duel” for revenge. It wasn’t until she befriended Starlight Glimmer in “No Second Prances” that she finally reforms and becomes a humble, reliable ally. Barr also voiced Kevin from Ed, Edd, n Eddy, another arrogant jerk character.
