ok so im warming up to this ship a little, it used to be my notp but idk it’s like, lowkey kinda cute. they’re best of friends from childhood, and for much of their awkward preteen years they had very obvious mutual crushes on each other… and when Fluttershy comes out as trans, that solidifies the fact that she is definitely gay in Rainbow’s mind.
nothing ever really came of it, though, as Dash struggles to express her emotions, and Shy is….shy lmao. So it was just a lot of blushing and a lot of awkwardly cute moments between them. he he. young love :)

the crush fades eventually, with the two ending up what they are in the show- close childhood friends, with Rainbow being incredibly protective of Fluttershy.

Rainbow dash has been in many situation-ships since (the kind where you can be physical, and she doesn’t have to acknowledge any deeper feelings/love), but Fluttershy was the only one she honestly could say she LOVED- until, of course, she meets Twilight.

2.) Okay, it’s time to revive an old idea I never actually posted, because I think actually this headcanon is extremely based.
While the human world Flash is a kinda… weak willed, scrawny little dude, the pony flash is incredibly different. Shining meets Flash (he/him lesbian) during his time at royal guard school. Though an absolute beast in training and on the battlefield, he’s actually pretty chill in conversation. He’s gentle, and wouldn’t hurt a fly…. and is incredibly popular with the ladies lmao.

Many years down the line, Shining Armour cashes in a favour and asks for Flash to come act as a commander in his force of guards in the crystal empire. Flash is more than happy to oblige.

3.) Little Twi meets Flash via Shining, obviously. And this causes Twilight’s first gay panic. She doesn’t really understand why this mare makes her feel this way but… suddenly…. women… and its all she can think about.

It’s partly why she was so enamoured with human Flash when she passed through the mirror. It makes no sense to me that like…. a horse transforms into a human for the first time and finds the human attractive. But she could see the simmilarity, and sort of fell for it…. until of course, she gets to know him, and figures out he has the personality of a wet sock. theyre completely different.
