Spike is the man I aspire to be. No matter how many times life knocks him down, he gets right up and tries again.

I’m surprised they didnt have a character in one episode who was like “Oh gosh, that poor dragon’s getting abused” only for Spike to be like “Oh please, it’s not that big of a deal…” thus, silencing all these “abuse” claims to him…

Same here. I’ve really had enough with all the abuse Spike gets in his show. Hopefully in Season 4 this comes to an end, cause it’s seriously not funny whatsoever.

Don’t tell me you guys already forgot about when Spike said he could be used as a pincushion because of his ridiculously tough scales. And that he can bathe in lava.
 
Spike can more than handle any scrapes here and there.

Yeah, that´s really sad. Espically given how much worse cartoon violence was in older series. I still remember stuff where heads blow off, brains were taken out, organs flying, cartoon charas shot for fun, fall to their broken half-deaths, etc and etc.  
Given all them, Spike isn´t abuse, it´s slap-stick comedy.  
Now that can´t be everybody´s thing, but it does work wonder for most little children.
 
That said, the few times the writers tried to do serious stuff with Spike like the Owlicious coming into his life/fear he´ll lose his place or the dragon code episode or just for sidekicks episode or any other episode he pretty much was either the star or the co-star off: Most bronies complained about those. Either bad or boring or both or more issues.  
I often read comments like “Spike-episodes are my least favorite.” And if you ask them why, i did that only twice though, then they answer cause its not interesting or funny. Nothing about him getting the short stick/butt monkey status/slap-stick comedian, etc.
 
And honestly, if we´d count all the Mane6 moments together where they got amboss to their head, clashed against a glass roof or landed all upon one unfortunate pony, then the count would be pretty even.  
We just notice it more with Spike cause unlike with the girls we have no other males who could take a share of those slap-stick moments. Though there was the one time where we had Big Mac drunken in love. XD
 
And about the CMC, they also get alot of those “autsch that must have hurt, but it didn´t cause they´re cartoon horses so its funny”-moments, but most of them are self-made.
 
As long as Twi doesn´t go slap “WHERE`S MY SNADWICH, BIATCH!?” or any of the other girls does, then i don´t have a prob with that.  
And heck, even that would be okay as long as it got an explanation like with the discorded Mane6 or an evil alicorn amulett.
 
Don´t interpretate too much into this. Overthinking is fun, i do that too, but draw the line somewhere else you´ll destroy your own fun watching the show as well as others due annoying them.  
Besides i´m sure we´ll get at least one more Spike episode in S4 if not two, so then we can see again if Spike-centric episodes would be more fun if serious or if played for simple slap-stick comedy with running into things, falling over things and getting thrown over things and etc.
