Discussions about how well this artist captured Izzy absolutely is appropriate for the image.

However, meta discussions of whether it’s appropriate for fan artists to draw MLP characters as blacks really should be on the forums rather than on fan art. Assuming we wouldn’t just Rule #0 that discussion as soon as it started. And it wasn’t just one comment.

If you don’t feel that a humanized version of a purple or lavender colored character should also have a dark skin tone, please filter the appropriate tags.

Everyone else - This is a cartoon character in a show that embraces diversity, created by a company that wants everyone to be able to see themselves in their work. If you don’t want to see fan art that embraces those themes, please filter the appropriate tags.

I’m guessing it’s because the black skin doesn’t clash well with the light, soft colors. I think that’s why most characters don’t look super good this way.

Characters like Zecora, Sombra, Luna, fit pretty well imo

just because you see a cute pony living in the forest does not mean its black…. okay that pony is black but… not because she lives in the forest!

If you noticed, they’re all a lighter tone/don’t have a coat than their pony counterparts. EQG!Applejack is a lighter tone of orange. That’s why Big Mac and Celestia are “pink”.

I don’t have to name anyone. I just imagined her as black because why not. The fact that you and so many other people in the community get upset when people lable characters in the series black and not white, then use stereotypes to prove why they can’t be black because according to you “no black person acts like that”. It’s sick dude. I noticed it the moment I found this site how bronies react to humanizations that are white vs black. No one questions why people make characters with pale skin.
