Third in a series on the changeling hives.

The Red Changelings are the most powerfully built of all the six hives, and typically take power roles in pony society. Several changelings are members of the Royal Guard, two of whom lost their lives fighting their own species in the Canterlot invasion. Their primary traits are duty and courage, and they have a preference for the taste of loyalty. While the Red Changelings will always place their queen’s (Carpacia) will first while within their hive, their loyalty to the Equestrian princesses is absolute outside of the hive. By treaty between between Carpacia and the diarchy, all Red Changelings serving in the Equestrian military are subject to Equestria’s laws first and foremost. However, they don’t just serve military roles. Red Changelings can often be found as police, bouncers, and heavy-muscle laborers. The color of their magic matches their carapace - red.
