WOD/Chaosverse- Purebreds
With the new contest many might be confused by the purebred traits I have put in the AU
Purebreds are ponies who only have one type of pony in their heritage and they present traits that the ponies had before Equestria was founded.
There are no purebred earth ponies left in Equestria but one of their original traits would be fluffy hooves and stronger legs.
Purebred Unicorns:
-Also known as Traditional Unicorns, they tend to have very powerful magic. However they only have either solid black fur or solid white fur. They can have any mane/tail color. They have curved horns and traditional tails. Since they don’t have earth pony blood they do not have fur on their hooves. Purebred unicorns are typically seen as a divine rarity and are treated with respect. They often like to flaunt their solid coats so they don’t typically wear much on their fur. Many believe unicorns came from the sun and moon.
Purebred Pegasus:
-Purebred Pegasi are rarer than purebred unicorns but they aren’t seen as divine rarities. They don’t care as much for keeping the pure lineage and most join the Pegasus Court or the Wonderbolts. Their second set of feathers makes them fly much faster than a normal pegasus. Purebreds also have much fluffier necks also known as a mane. They don’t have a use in modern pony times but the fluffier and softer the mane is the more respected the pegasus is as it is a sign of good and healthy genes. Unlike purebred unicorns, purebred pegasi are solid in any color but white or black. Many believe pegasi came from rainbows.
Purebred traits can show up in ponies who aren’t purebreds but are related to a purebred. Twilight and Shining Armor are an example. Their mother Twilight Velvet is a purebred unicorn while their father is a regular unicorn with earth pony and pegasus genes. Regular unicorns have straight horns(regular pegasi don’t have a second set of feathers or have a mane). Twilight has a straight horn and a regular tail but Shining Armor has a curved horn and traditional tail from his mother. Rainbow Dash has a second set of feathers while Fluttershy does not.
