Rainbow Dash darted through the sky, her signature polychrome trail chasing behind her. It wouldn’t be long till the long-awaited storm would begin, so she had to be home quick as to avoid it. Not that that’d be any trouble to her, of course. She was /the/ Rainbow Dash, fastest pegasus alive. However, it wouldn’t hurt to fly just a little faster.
Before she knew it, the mare had dove down and hit the breaks, finally at the door of the Carousel Boutique. She shook off any dirt or mud that’d clung to her hooves as a result of the impact, then swung open the door.
“Rares, I’m home!~” She sang without a second thought. The door slammed shut behind her just as the rain began to pour.
Rarity, donning her bathrobe, cradled a small, flamingo pink foal as she lounged on the sofa. That was until Rainbow Dash arrived, at least. She sat up carefully, then swivelled her head around to glare at her wife, who idled awkwardly. She hushed the blue pegasus, whispering, “darling, you’ll wake the baby.”
Baby.
Baby?
Oh wait- the baby! Rainbow Dash hadn’t adjusted yet to being a mother, even less so due to being needed for Wonderbolt shows. It was just… unbelievable. Rainbow Dash, as in /the/ Rainbow Dash, not only married to /the/ Rarity, but the mother of /their/ child! Of whom rested soundlessly in her mothers embrace. It must’ve been too good to be true, surely! There’s no way she could get this lucky in life. A beautiful wife, beautiful daughter, and, not to toot her own horn but, a beautiful-self as well. It was perfect.
Rainbow wasn’t exactly the mushy type, but she couldn’t help herself sometimes. She waddled up to her two girls, bottom lip trembling as tears began to well in her eyes.
“Oh, Dashie…” Rarity murmured softly.
Rainbow Dash sniffed as she wrapped her forelegs around her beloved. “I’m sorry, it’s just- you make me so happy ‘s all. I’m-… I’m so lucky to have you both!” With that, the flood gates flung open. A river of tears trickled down her feathery cheeks as gentle hiccups escaped her throat. She was overwhelmingly happy. She didn’t want to let go, but she’d have to if she didn’t wanna suffocate anypony.
As she pulled away, she nuzzled her wife and whispered faintly, “I love you.”
A bolt of lightning tore open the night sky, briefly illuminating Ponyville and the households within it. “I love you too,” Rarity hummed back.
No idea if this next gen’s gonna go anywhere, but I had to give into the temptation. Rather than having all the ships set up, putting the kids in place and /then/ figuring out storylines, I’m just gonna go with the flow and only have necessary characters. If I even continue with this that is.
Also, their daughters name is Firefly (heavily ‘inspired’ by G1 Firefly). Hope you enjoy!
