Trixie using pure stage magic and making it look like real magic is a lot more interesting to me, though to be fair the only time they ever used it like they should was in the Season 6 finale. A unicorn who can use magic but uses tricks to make herself seem vastly more capable is interesting!
I find Discord’s apology in the Abyssinians arc more sincere than in Ending of the End.
In particular its nice to see discord and trixie working together like in this panel.
Random note: I like how much genuine concern twilight has for discord’s here. Like ive said and thought about before, they have a unspoken bond.

IDW mades Chrysalis kills a cat in front of fillies.
IDW comics can have bad stories but when uses characters as Trixie and Discord, they are better done than in the show for the creative freedom, it’s a hit or miss.
Pros and cons. Trixie could be a badass and that potential has been squandered. Provided a previous issue made her the fool but redeemed it later in this issue. Too bad we don’t get to see what of the trio after.
So in the comics… Trixie is smart enough to use her illusion powers to fool others.
