009 was a lonely, friendless orphan, just dragging herself through life. Her hero and the only pony she had ever looked up to was dead and it seemed like everypony made it a point to tease her. When a royal guard came along with an offer to join a program and never come near her hometown again, she jumped at the opportunity.
 
She actually doesnt mind being a cyborg. Sure it means shell never be able to fly independently, but for her, what she lost is outweighed by what she gained. Her favorite thing is being able to eat all the candy she can find, something she had very little of before, and suffer no ill effects for it.
 
Like all of the zero-zero cyborgs, Spike has ideas for upgrades, one he plans to do as soon as possible, but saying what it is would be telling, not that the picture doesnt already give it away.
