Princess No.3!!
I adore Cadence’s colour palette and I can’t get enough of her ombré wings!! This time I actually gave a princess a background from the show, it is the Crystal Empire!
For Cadence I definitely felt Inspired by Sleeping Beauty and Barbie the princess and the pauper dresses. However I wanted her dress and jewels to be a tad bit simpler than the sun and moon sisters. They have been ruling for a very long time so for her design to be same level of sparkle and complexity didn’t feel right. However she is the protector and ruler of an entire region of Equestria so she had to have some special elements too. When I do Twilight and Flurry they will those same considerations.
Necklace is what I imagine she received when she became the princess of the crystal empire sort of her coronation gift besides the crown. And her earrings are also made of crystal! Her special gemstones are pearls! Which decorate her crown, are hanging from her bodice and decorate the brooch. I like to think the little sash around her waist is an apron from when she was babysitting Twilight. The flowers are a small decoration as well.
I really like how she came out. She is so pink and happy! I wanted her to look like she was filled with the warmth and love of a mother with the grace of a princess, and the palette of a pony! Her wings ended up longer than Celestia’s and Luna’s because I wanted them to feel like you could cuddle them and she would smother any little child she could. So big and lovable was the goal!
