Before, an ace flyer and a commander of the Wonderbolts, Soarin was always driven and motivated. Over time, he mellowed down and decided to settle with Rainbow Dash, though both were clearly still driven to continue their careers as best they could. After having a foal, however, one of them needs to slow down and raise their kid. Knowing that it Rainbow’s dream has been with the Wonderbolts, he’d want for her to keep that dream. But the Wonderbolts would still need a good teacher for the next generation of flyers. Also someone to handle the paperwork too.

Though a skilled flyer and always eager to show those skills in training the cadets as well as his son, his workload often leaves him little time to tune his body to fit his old self. Over time, a bit of pudge starts showing, fist on his waist, then shoulders, and after a year grew throughout his body. Not so much of a worry for Soarin, however, as his pride has far since moved away to his skills and his shape, for now, it’s to his work in training and his child.
