It also seems from the previews that they didn’t get the information about the lighthouse’s redesign. It looks more like the movie design than the Crystal Brighthouse design, as far as I can tell. Though plenty of the early G4 IDW stuff was contradicted by show elements later, so we’re still on secondary canon, then.

I have something to complain about.
Don’t get me wrong, I love G5 at its start, but something is degrading that first impression.
This message is getting tired because it’s been used three times in a row.
I’d rather put this one behind us, go into different messages with new stories involving relationships, and storytelling based on potential and exploration on world building for the sake of a good time.
Here it’s focusing too much on those crystals which in the direction they’re going are ruining G5’s merit.
Basically it’s shouting “Make friends or the world will abruptly end.” which is not a concept I like to see.
If it were me in charge, I’d have those crystals safely dismantled so that magic works the way it did in g4, place the complete set of crystals on a flag for a faction led by the mane 5, and move on. I’d move on immediately to kirins and give them substantial screen time. Maybe then pony races getting together would be gotten over completely and leave the past behind now that something new and different is living among them that is just too cute and cuddly to be scared of (unless they’re angry).

That would make sense given the level of control they’re displaying over their powers.

But there’s the absence of the new baby dragon and the first page >>2866947 seeming to state it’s a week after the movie (am I misinterpreting it or missing something?). And unity between races might be different than the peace between them MYM is threatening.

I find it odd they know enough of MYM in advance to get one of those details but miss the other (were they not the same trailer?).
