a teenager? so you’re saying twilight was lying when she clearly stated that spike is in fact, a baby. it’s also been made very clear that dragons age much slower than ponies, so even though they are similar ages, spike is still in the baby (or at the very least, young child) stage of his life cycle

Twilight’s mother is a total palette swap of her, just subtract wings. As for Twilight and Shining Armor (who catches a lot of flak from fans for some reason despite only getting three whole minutes of screentime once you add up all his appearances), I don’t look anything like my younger brother either. Ma and Pa Apple are dead and they’ve never even appeared in flashbacks, though Applebloom bears a slight resemblance to AJ who bears a very slight resemblance to Big MacIntosh in like frame and facial construction. Pinkie looks quite a bit like her sisters (though since they’re probably the pony world’s version of identical triplets, that’s to be expected) If they all wore their hair the same way and dyed their pelts pink it would be impossible to tell them apart. We’ve never seen Fluttershy’s family at all. she might look a little like one of her parents. Also Rarity bears a resemblance to Pearl (her mother) and Sweetie Belle. Also like it or not Rainbow inherited her father’s looks. Resemblance means more than you think on the show. Flim and Flam would be impossible to tell apart if Flam shaved off his mustache. Most of the characters resemble at least one of their known relatives in someway.
Ponyville would be Midtown, downtown is the projects, the pure slums.

Midtown girl? She’s from Ponyville. And yeah, Spike was born and grew up in Canterlot which fans seem to overlook sometimes.
Resemblance means little in FiM. None of the Apples look alike, after all. Twilight and the retard don’t look alike, nor do wither take after their parents. Pinkie’s family is exceptionally dissimilar, and while Dash’s dad does have rainbow hair I view that as a stupid design choice and nothing more. The Cake’s kids ain’t even the same species as them.
The irony is that Rarity is actually a Midtown girl and Spike is an Uptown guy raised by both Celestia herself and an upper middle class family, (Twilight’s family is not actually wealthy, if they were, someone at that garden party would have recognized her). Speaking of there is no way that Rarity and Fancypants are not related, there is a truly uncanny resemblance between them, he’s probably her uncle.
