Hey, multishipping is already an option!! Outside of Starblazer, I ship all of the couples you mentioned. Pitch is my favorite, though. I think they have too much in common, they make way too much sense as a couple. I don’t know why the writers won’t let them interact more.

And Izzy and Hitch do have a tag on Derpibooru, as well as some AMVs on Youtube. It’s the least popular of the Hitch ships, not counting Hitch x Primrose (since that one is very new), but it has its shippers. I remember when The Unboxing of Izzy from Tell Your Tale came out, and Izzy called Hitch ‘Hitchy-poo.’ Shippers started turning up left and right 😂

I’m conflicted. Pitch was my favorite ship when G5 started. That moment when Hitch sees Pipp for the first time only added to it. But Stormblazer has really grown on me. They have very fun chemistry. But I’m also a sucker for childhood friend love stories, hence my liking for Starblazer. And after the game introduced Primrose, who is so adorable that I couldn’t help but ship it when I learned she has crush on Hitch.

The only one I don’t ship Hitch with seems to be Izzy. Does anyone even ship those two?

Yeah, that’s also a possibility. G4 played it very safe with shipping, I wouldn’t be surprised if G5 decides to play it safe as well. Though, I could also see them tackle romance more, as the times they did in G4 were usually well-received and shippers give shows a lot of attention. I don’t necessarily think the ship would take over the show, if they keep the focus on the friendships and keep the romantic interactions as minimal.

Also, I didn’t mean all bronies, only…a lot of them. Hitch isn’t the first nor the last character to get a ‘gets all the mares’ tag. A lot of fans love their harems, or harem jokes.

I can’t imagine this happening until very late in the series, if ever, but who knows? Having a couple among the main cast would change the whole dynamic of the series. Effectively, it would mean that the couple becomes more important than the rest of the group. I do expect plenty more shipping fuel though.

Not all bronies like the Chads. I know it’s not Hitch’s fault that I’m full of envy. I kinda like the guy. But sometimes I feel like shoving him down a well.

I’m not exactly banking on any of my ships becoming canon. Shipping is mostly for fun. (Though there are some exceptions, where there’s subtext the shipper wishes wasn’t visible to them.)

Yeah, I agree with these responses. It’s just a byproduct of having a male character in the main cast, not some sort of vengeance for the focus G4’s fandom had on f/f ships. Shippers like to explore all the options between the main characters, no matter the gender make-up of them.
With G5 there’s the added element that, with a male character surrounded by girls, there’s a possibility that one of the couples could actually become canon. G4’s Mane 6 ships were shipped for fun, not as many people would insist that their OTP would become canon. They were talking about lesbian ships, and especially at the time FiM came out, those were hard to push in children’s media (and still are, in a main character scale). Which we all know isn’t the case with straight relationships.
And yes, the ‘Chad Hitch’ element has something to do with it too–bronies love their characters who can ‘get all the mares’, and Hitch seems to be framed as a heartrob, if his ego and pin-up calendars are anything to go by. Of course, he’s made the fandom go nuts.
When push comes to shove, Sunny x Izzy is still the most popular G5 ship, and the one that offers the least controversy–even the ones who don’t ship it see the appeal.
