Honestly, this is a truly amazing response. It really does summarize how I feel about G5. Truth be told, I know that bronies will always compare it to G4, including myself to an extent, but I also know that it is a standalone show and should be treated as such. Honestly, animation errors like this don’t ruin a show for me. What does is when bronies continue to bring them up as if they somehow degrade from the overall experience of watching the show. For me it didn’t degrade my enjoyment of MyM (I have seen it a few times, albeit not on Netflix since I can’t afford that), but I do respect other people’s opinions on the matter.

Thanks so much for your kind words. It’s really nice to see people like you in this community. It really does give me hope for the future.

But pepole who tend to mis-interpret or overreact to things like you did just now was the reason I distantiated myself from the fandom in the first place by the end of G4.

Firstly, you got angry at two people who simply answered your question here.

Secondly, you completely mis-inerpret the reason I posted this image (and the reason most people post such “animation error” images).

And finally, you claim that animation errors (or people finding them) RUIN the show for you.
If it’s all it takes to ruin your enjoyment by any show, I’m surprised you made it this far since G4.

I don’t care about the errors either. And the story AND characters (and their interactions) are the the most important things in any show to me. :)

But people sometimes find it fun to notice and share animation errors. It began from G4 MLP FiM show. It was fun back then, and it is fun now.

Just like it’s fun to speculate about things in the show, etc.

It does NOT mean that we don’t enjoy the show! :)

While it saddens me that there are less people who like G5 (both 2D and 3D shows), the reason is different.

The main reason for most of such people is that (even if on subconscious level) they keep comparing G5 to G4.

It IS a different show, set in a different time, so much into the future that G4 barely should have any effect on it.

This show feels different from G4 in some ways, but it has some similarities.

Still, it’s a different show. But it’s OKAY to like something different from what you liked before.

No need to compare G5 to G4.

G5 stands on its own. And I’m gonna continue enjoying it, no matter what some people say. :)

All I can hope for at this moment is that the series, when that comes in September, doesn’t have these kinds of animation issues. I want to enjoy the series, since it is more MLP. But at the same time I know that this fandom will somehow ruin it for me with posts like this. I guess it goes to show why the people in this fandom don’t seem to like G5 all that much, especially in comparison to G4. I like G5 myself. I don’t care about animation errors, as the story matters more to me. I like what they are doing with Sunny especially. But it saddens me to see things like this, fans lampooning the animation of the series. It makes me wonder if the majority of the fandom feels like they would be able to make a far better series than Hasbro can. Who knows, maybe the fans could make a better series. I wouldn’t put it past them, honestly.

When creating TV shows, people who are in charge of quality check sometimes just miss such issues, and that’s how animation errors end up in the final product. (In rare cases, when re-released, sometimes some of animation errors get actually fixed later, but not always).

Animation errors in TV shows and movies are quite common! Especially in TV shows.

Most likely, a person who checked the MYM special just blinked during this frame, and that’s how they didn’t notice it. :)

Honestly, even with the animation being as bad as it is I would think that the animation staff who created that special would have seen that sort of error and edited it out, or at least got rid of that specific frame before the movie was uploaded to Netflix. This is the most error-prone CG series I have seen, sheesh!

You didn’t check the video of the MYM special itself. ;)

The video you linked doesn’t have ALL the frames.

The creator of that video probably removed that frame on purpose, since that animation error would ruin it.

P.S. On that video there’s still a slight “red jelly” error left on her hoof’s side, in the other frame (but not as obvious) XD

I don’t know. I don’t have access to Netflix, so I will just take your word for it.
Strange that such a frame would be left in, though. One would think that it would be edited out, like it was for the video that I just shared with you!
