Unfortunately, you can’t disenchant the thieves or DB sets. I had been planning on disenchanting them then transferring the enchantments to dragonscale armor, but that didn’t pan out.

I spent a long time trying to enchant a set of armor with the enchantment of an Expert Robe of Destruction. Had I been successful I would have had 500% magicka regeneration and been able to cast destruction spells for only 20% of their cost.

The real strength of the Thieves and DB sets are their enchantments. I got to where I could make dragon materials and still preferred the Thieves sets for the enchantments. Plus the weight capacity upgrade with the thieves armor is nice if you decide to use dragonbone weapons.

Skyrim’s glass armor was much better than it was in Oblivion though Morrowind’s iteration remains my favorite. I thought the dragonscale armor looked better than the dragonplate. I got burnt out on the game before I could acquire dragonscale, Thieve’s Guild, or Dark Brotherhood armor.

I dunno. I thought most of the light armors, with the exceptions of the glass and dragon sets, were pretty good. Especially the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood sets.
