Yeah but SOMETHING happened that caused the three tribes to mind their own business. When Izzy entered Maretime Bay territory, she was supposed to be arrested. When Sunny and Izzy entered Zephyr Heights, they got arrested. Same case would’ve happened if they went into Bridlewood with no disguises.

Sprout had nothing to do with how the three tribes hate each other. People blame him for “starting a war” for some reason but he was born into a world that was already like that. There’s no way he was the cause between the hate of the three tribes. He was also only acting in a way that was expected of him (tasked to defend his territory) when intruders enter his home.

I keep asking people to put themselves in this situation. “What do you do if a stranger intrudes the privacy of your home?” All you need is a little empathy because when you live long enough, you’ll eventually find yourself in a situation where you say “I was only doing what I thought was right” but people blame you anyway for the consequences.

well to be clear, each 3 was mostly minded their own businesses and was keeping distances from one another, until sprout himself wanted to attack the unicorns and Pegasi(especially knowing that they can’t use magic and fly) without even massage them of another battle, which again: not warning your opponent of an imminent attack is very much a war crime irl.

and even if two or more nations are at war, some rules do need to be followed anyway or things will spiral into pure chaos.

That’s a misconception. Sprout couldn’t have caused a war if the three tribes were already at war to begin with. When g5 started, the three tribes were already at war because something happened to divide them between the untold amount of time from g4 to g5. They were likely already at war before Sprout was born. Probably even while Twilight was still around. Someone had to have sealed the magic to stop them from using it to hurt each other.

Don’t even try to defend that house wrecker genocidal Maniac, he almost caused a war to the other 2 tripes without any warning(which would be considered a war crime irl), and had demolished sunny’s home.

at least it wasn’t sprout’s fault this time.

any object can be both a tool and a weapon, and as long as all 3 tribes treat the magic as a tool, then balance and harmony can be maintained, yet they treat it as a weapon, then they’ll bring instability and chaos onto themselves.

Magic itself isn’t bad. Its a tool. Its how it is used. Like a hammer that can be used to build a house or hit someone over the head and kill them. My guess is it got to a point where magic was so abused by the three tribes hurting each other that Twilight simply had no choice but to remove it.

These crystals are badly designed. A small argument breaks out and they glitch. A society doesn’t function that way. Nor does friendship function that way. Friends aren’t friends because they have a hive mind. Arguments are necessary to grow relationships too. They are sources of experience that expand perspective. Remember the G4 song ’Flawless”?

Its probably just the format of TyT being 5 mins long or so but if they’re trying to imprint a lesson on their target audience, they’re only doing so on the shallowest of levels.

Yeah, the many unfortunate implications of the crystals creation is why it would of been better if what happened between the ending of g4 and the beginning of g5 had remined ambiguous with a few hints here and there to let the audience draw their own conclusions.

Creating the crystals without taking into regard the effects they could have on the other kingdoms sounds out of character for them even if it was out of desperation.

I know, but if I remember correctly Starlight Glimmer abused magic to do many things that affected many ponies and creatures around her, whether they were good or bad actions.

So I’m surprised that the Mane 6 didn’t do it before… you know something I wonder if that led to a war with other kingdoms like the crystal empire….
since if the crystals affected magic in general, it could have taken the magic from the crystal heart and could have condemned that kingdom…. I wonder if the crystals took the magic away from the other princesses, and therefore their supposed immortality…
