A lot of people misuse the term to mean any ship they consider improbable/impossible or even just any non canon ship when yeah a crackship only refers to those where the characters never interacted at all.

Great pic! Although I’m offended the artist labelled it as a crackship. Discord and Twilight have interacted a lot, it’s not a crackship!
I’m still salty that DiscordxTwilight never became as popular as Dislestia or Fluttercord, even though Discord had way more moments with Twilight in S2 and S4 than with Fluttershy or Celestia.
