If the price of Valve’s headset is any indication, it’s probably better at like a thousand dollars. I remember you needed it to play the newest Half-Life at first (but maybe that is no longer the case).

To be fair, a VR headset is, in fact, a computer monitor that is strapped to your face. Usually a high-resolution and high frame rate monitor, to boot! Sometimes bundled with high-quality speakers and mic and wireless motion-tracked controllers. That’s a lot of gear you get for that $400.
VR “goggles” that go with your smartphone might seem cheap, but you gotta understand that the rendering is all being done by your phone. Smartphones can render some pretty nice graphics these days. And how much does that smartphone cost, in total? That being said, it’s more accessible because smartphones all have installment plans and cost you like $10-20/month, which is less scary than buying the thing all at once.

Seems like a lot for a pair of plastic goggles and a book. But at least it’s not an extreme price to pay, it costing about $40 dollars, and all. I mean, VR headsets usually cost a lot of dough. I’m talking $400.00 for an Oculus Quest 2! Compared to that, I’d say Quantem Storey’s price is kinda generous.
