Booker isn’t. He still has to use the skylines. But yes, certain skyline segments would be redundant if Elizabeth were to, say, suddenly need to use one for no reason.

Every argument against Infinite I’ve heard boils down into two basic complaints.

-I didn’t understand the story

-I just don’t like first person shooters

Neither of these are the games fault.

I usually was able to just camp a spot and snipe, using my shotgun for close combat. Elizabeth frequently tossing ammo my way made camping very easy. Sure I had some trouble during a certain late-game segment, but it was only minor trouble for a small area of the game.

The combat has mixed views because people don’t realize that it’s the setting that changed around it. Back in the first, you were sneaking around and laying traps; the splicers were more mad then organized and most weapons go unused past the halfway mark.

In this game though, most enemies have a gun and won’t break cover so easy. Plus, you spend a good deal of time in the air or searching for ways to flank them, which makes for interesting combat as you surprise a cover camper with a skyline attack to the face. The two-weapon limit, in my opinion, makes the game tense and exciting. Most weapons end up gathering dust near the end of the game so it’s good to find a couple favorites and stick with it.

And, of course, I don’t need to say much about the story…..

While I liked the combat of 2 the best and the story of 1 the best, I think Infinite struck a good middle ground with the story and did a great job with the individual characters. Because while 1 had a great overall story, Infinite did a better job fleshing out its cast than the previous two games.

@Peng
The combat was pretty simplified from the other games. I’ve made it up to the last major battle with just a sniper rifle and shotgun, occasionally switching the rifle for a crank gun in enclosed areas. And I missed the vigors actually having plot relevance for existing in the first place. But it’s still a great game.

They tell me that Bioshock infinite was a piece of shit, that the enemies lacked variety, the combat was terrible, it should have been an rpg, the Handymen should be the same as big daddies, etc,etc.

To those people I have only one thing to say:

“Let me just enjoy the simple pleasure of knocking someone off a building from the sky-line and stop trying to tell me what you WANT bioshock infinite to be instead of what it is.”
